"Canterbury" Aesthetic Plate, as printed with the name, date lozenge, and the potter, J.B. Description: Measuring 9 1/4" in diameter, this plates celebrates nature with a wonderful interplay of geometrics popular in the late 19th century. Harboring a shiny glaze with no chips or cracks, an oversized reclining deer is seen within a rectangular shield. Some of the areas of transfer are slightly blurred as illustrated in images. To me, it adds to the casual charm of the piece.
